NHF Makes it Easy to Start a Family Foundation

FeesApplication Fees:

Application Fee: $385, which includes $100 that remains in your Foundation. This amount will not be charged until your Foundation application has been accepted as a part of NHF.

Once your Foundation application as been accepted, you will receive:

1. A framed parchment certificate announcing the formation of your Foundation under NHF;

2. A CD-Rom containing information about NHF;

3. A letter welcoming you to the NHF family.

Administrative Fee of 2.5% is charged on donations made to your Foundation at NHF. Since NHF is an independent charity, this fee allows us to maintain the high level of quality service without the hidden fees that most other "donor-advised funds" charge.

Occassional Fees:

• Merchant Account Fee of 3% on each credit card donation. We can process donations made with any major credit card.

• ACH Transfers — We can process donations to your foundation using online checks, or "ACH Transfers." We charge your foundation account 85 cents per online check that we process for you.

• Wire Transfers — For domestic wire transfers, we charge $15; for international wire transfers, we charge $52.

• Overnight Fee — If you require next-day service, the charge varies according to the service provider.

• Research Fee — If a request is made to NHF that we copy and send any previously sent forms, receipts, records, or activity reports, a fee of $1.50 per page will be billed to the foundation account for this service.

Administrative Management Fee is .5% per quarter on Foundation accounts that are involved with our investment program, with an average quarterly first-of-the-month balance of $10,000 or more. These Foundation account may either be paid money market dividends quarterly, less our management fee, or they may have their own portfolio under the supervision of NHF, and we will take our management fee quarterly from the portfolio.

There is no additional charge for Will Bequests, Charitable Remainder Trusts, Charitable Remainder Unitrusts, or Charitable Remainder Annuity Trusts. But there are two assets where we have so much administration to do over the years that we must levy a small charge:

1. Life Insurance and Any Other Types of Deferred Gifts: There is no initial fee on moneys earmarked for insurance. We do, however, charge our marketing fee of 2.5% plus an additional 2% when the death benefit is paid to the Foundation at NHF.
