The National Heritage Foundation wants to help you to build your Foundation into something for which you will be remembered. Charitable giving through your Foundation can be personally rewarding and beneficial to your community.
The first step is to:
You may request that NHF make gifts from your Foundation to a place of worship, school or charity qualified by the IRS under Section 501(c)(3). When you request such a disbursement, NHF staff will always check to make sure these organizations are tax exempt. If you request, we will gladly investigate those charities you are planning to benefit.
Do you want to help people with cancer? Would you like to improve the library of your alma mater? These and many more causes can be benefited by your Foundation. You’re probably already making contributions to charities that you feel strongly about. Yet, if you decide to make donations to your Foundation, you may then request that NHF make contributions from your Foundation to those charities.
For each disbursement, NHF will print checks with the name of your Foundation and send them to the charity directly. Or you may request that we send the check to you for your personal presentation to the charity.
NHF provides these services to organize, support, and maintain your Foundation:
The receipting, accounting, and deposit of all donations.
The disbursement of funds in accordance with approved purposes.
Posting and bookkeeping of all transactions.
Online confirmations and reporting of all transactions to the founder.
Preparation and filing of all federal, state, and local reports.
Since NHF performs the administration work for your Foundation, you are free to do your charitable giving and help those people who really need it.
